Mini-Split Giveaway Rules 2026

WHAI/WPVQ 2026 “MINI SPLIT GIVEAWAY” OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

These are the rules governing the “Mini Split” giveaway on radio stations WHAI, WPVQ-FM, WIZZ-AM, WPVQ-AM and 107.5FM. (The Western Mass Media Group) The grand prize will be a new Samsung two-head mini-split system, installed, from Tognarelli Heating & Cooling.  This contest runs from March 16th, 2026 through April 27th, 2026. This contest is running simultaneously on all 5 Western Mass Media Group radio stations. Listeners from all 5 stations are competing for one grand prize. The grand prize is valued at $10,000.00.

  • There is no purchase necessary to become eligible to win.

  • To be eligible to win the grand prize, you must become one of the 60 “qualifiers” who will be entered into a grand prize drawing on April 27th, 2026.

  • Every weekday between March 16th, 2026 and April 25th, 2026, The Western Mass Media Group radio stations will announce a code word that listeners can enter on the contest page of the station websites. The code words will be announced once per hour between 6am and 7pm each day.  Listeners will have until midnight each night to enter the daily code word. Each day, two entries will be randomly selected as qualifiers for the grand prize giveaway.  Listeners can enter the code word once per day.

  • Grand prize winner will be chosen from all 60 qualifiers through a random drawing on the morning of April 27th, 2026.  Grand prize winner will be notified by phone the morning of April 27th, 2026.

  • Grand prize winner will arrange delivery and installation of the mini split unit with Tognarelli Heating & Cooling.  If the grand prize winner requires or requests a larger system than the 30,000 BTU two head system, any extra costs will be incurred by the winner.  The grand prize winner must own the home in which the unit will be installed.  Any manufacturer rebates will be retained by Tognarelli Heating & Cooling.

  • Western Mass Media Group contests are open to all eligible Massachusetts/New Hampshire/Vermont residents 18 years or older that have not won anything on any of the stations in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months.   Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner.  Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

  • Employees of the Western Mass Media Group, Saga Communications of New England, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the WHAI/WPVQ main studio are not eligible to win any contest.  Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.
  • Contests heard on the radio stations’ internet audio stream may be slightly delayed from the time the contests are heard on the broadcast station and will be running behind the broadcast signal. Thus, all contests heard on the internet are delayed. This delay can last for as much as 30 seconds or more. This means that when WHAI/WPVQ contests are played that require a specific caller to telephone the radio station (such as “Caller number 9 when you hear the sound effect”), listeners to the on-line audio stream may be at a disadvantage in participating over those listeners who hear the contests on-air.
  • All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.

  •  The Western Mass Media Group, Saga Communications of New England, Inc., its parent corporation, Saga Communications, Inc., their agencies, employees, and representatives absolve themselves and shall be held harmless from any action or liability arising from the “Mini-Split” contest or the prize awarded in said contest.

  • Winner is responsible for all taxes on prize awarded.  Winner must fill out the appropriate tax forms at the WHAI/WPVQ studios, and provide a valid photo ID before receiving the prize. Prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash.

  • Entrants must meet other legal requirements detailed in the official rules, to grant permission to use entrant’s name and likeness without compensation and to sign a release. This contest is subject to federal, state and local laws.  All of Western Mass Media Groups general contest rules posted on the radio station websites also apply to this promotion. The Western Mass Media Group reserves the right in its sole discretion to supplement or make changes to the rules of any contest at any time without notice and reserves the right to interpret the rules of any contest, and such interpretation shall be binding upon all participants.”
