My weekend in 5 photos

After a rainy Friday, I was nervous about this weekend. I am in charge of the Winchester Pickle Festival, held every year on the 4th Saturday in September. Saturday was a beautiful day.

Lots of people came from all over for free pickles, fun, crafters and music. Even my parents showed up and met Mr. Pickle!

The Pickle Festival was only one of the reasons my parents came into town. On Sunday my family got together to celebrate what would have been my grandmother’s 100th birthday. Sadly she past away last month. But we had cake anyway!

That is my daughter Amelia trying to fit 100 candles on a small cake. My Mom is in the back and that is my cousin Ryan in the sunglasses.

Cousin Ryan brought me some tasty beer and late on Sunday I had a chance to sit down and relax for a moment.

Our dog Abby was sad to see the weekend end. Me too!

Robert De Niro delivers Lincoln’s civility warning at a Carnegie Hall benefit

After a career defined by playing gangsters, an avenging taxi driver and a paranoid prize fighter, the Oscar-winning actor recited a call for civility, as first spoken by Abraham Lincoln.
