Happy President’s Day everyone!
Hopefully you have some time off this week. Not me! Do something fun for me, will ya?
Cheer season is in full swing for us in our house and on Saturday we headed down to Hartford, Connecticut for a meet at the Convention Center.
These competitions are crazy. Right before the performance, they herd the parents into an alley before the stage so you can be up front to cheer for your cheer people.
I got a good photo of Amelia but unfortunately at the same time got an embarrassing shot of some other cheerleaders.
See? Amelia looks good striking the pose but that poor kid in the background looks like they took an unintended tumble!
Connor went with us on Saturday. When he found out we were going to Connecticut, he said, “We have to go to Crumbl Cookie!” I had no idea what he was talking about. Evidently the Crumbl Cookie ad has been showing up on his Tik Toc feed. We were in Hartford. The Crumble Cookie location was in Manchester. So after the competition, I suggested that we stop at a restaurant near the cookie haven to have a late lunch/early dinner.
We went to the Artisanal Burger Company. I am glad we went there. I got a burger with mushrooms and cheddar which was great but what surprised me was the onion rings on the side.
Look at those big guys! Just as big as the burger! Now if you told me I was only getting four onion rings with my order, I likely would have passed. But those four onion rings were a meal in itself!
After the meal it was cookie time.
Our first visit ever to a Crumbl Cookie location. The prices are not for the faint of heart. One cookie averaged 5 bucks. We opted for the four pack which ended up being presented in this box.
I got the traditional chocolate chip which was the third one from the right. From left to right, Ann’s Valentine candy crunch cookie, Amelia’s chocolate toffee caramel cookie. and Connor’s cheesecake cookie.
They were delicious. I had half of mine that night and half the next day. It was still fresh and amazing. The kids were so happy we went there as you can see…
After one spends five bucks on a cookie, you might find your bank account being low!
Too low to hire someone for a quick car fix.
My turn signal light has been out on our car for a while. I have avoided getting pulled over and figured my luck was likely going to end soon so it was time for some auto parts store parking lot repair on Sunday.
Abby provided encouragement. I wasn’t the only one doing parking lot repair.
I hope you had a great weekend! -Kevin
