My weekend in eight photos. Tag Sale, Country in the Country and mowing.

For the first time ever, I walked away from Saturday’s Franklin County’s Largest Tag Sale with NO purchases! Usually I bring the truck and load the whole bed up with items that I mostly need. Not this time! I did see a lot of people walking around, bragging about their great deal. The Franklin County Fairgrounds is the perfect spot for this event. There’s enough space for everyone to spread out. There was even a dog show and a sheep show going on at the same time!

While we were there, my phone was blowing up with people sending messages about the fire in Orange.

Scary stuff. Amazing how the community came together to fight that fire. It is truly exceptional how many people will drop everything they are doing on a Saturday afternoon to fight a fire and help out their fellow citizen. Hopefully the person who is responsible for this blaze will be found and brought to justice.

At about 3PM, it was time to head south to Country in the Country at the Young Men’s Club in Hadley. We have been looking forward to this country music festival for a long time. I am so glad it arrived on a day with great weather. The Young Men’s Club has a lot of space to hold a big show like they scheduled on Saturday.

This was early in the afternoon just as the music was getting started. Shady areas were at a premium.

The music was excellent and I got to hang out with my friends Lindsey Labelle and Otan Vargas who both put on great performances.

I even got to chat with old friend Craig Campbell. Well, he may not know we are friends but we are Facebook friends!

It was great being up on stage and welcoming all the country stars.

This was just before Rodney Atkins went on.

Ann, Connor and Amelia came down for the show too. I think this is the first time our kids have experienced an entire night of live music. They ate fried dough, ice cream and bounced around to the tunes. I caught Connor paying attention.

I think he was realizing how many songs he recognized from Rodney. Glad to see my kids enjoying all kinds of music!

Saturday was a LONG day.

I slept in until 7AM on Sunday. (Hey, when you wake up at 3AM everyday, 7AM really is sleeping in!)

I spent the day cleaning the house and mowing the lawn. My neighbor, who has a huge backyard, is without a mower at the moment, so I have using my lawn tractor to help her out.

Lots to mow and I am suddenly thankful that I don’t have a big yard to mow all the time.

(Please note Ann’s white iris’ to the left in the photo above. They are blooming throughout the yard and are beautiful.)

Also, Amelia got one of her belated birthday presents this weekend.

Ears pierced! She is over the moon.

I hope you had a good weekend! -Kevin
