My weekend in five photos

Franklin County Fair weekend! Yes, the weather was not ideal, but the fun and food must go on! I was at the fair Saturday and Sunday. I had hosting duties, I helped out the Hager’s and I did some wandering around to my favorite fair spots.

First, before I left for Greenfield on Saturday, I made one of the best BLT’s ever!

OK. What you see here is locally baked bread toasted to perfection, a healthy helping of bacon, some lettuce and tomatoes from my own container garden! Now I know those tomatoes are not sliced beautifully, they pretty much collapsed at the sight of the knife, but man was this BLT delicious!

Off to Greenfield!

I mentioned this morning during the morning show, one of my favorite places at the fair is the 4H Building. These 4Hers put together some awesome projects and displays.

I love the pig put together by flowerpots and the iron art to the right. And the scarecrows. Amazing!

This year I got to MC the Demolition Derbies on Saturday and Sunday. I think Saturday’s was more exciting. There were more cars and some good heats.

On Sunday they had the big 8 cylinders on the track and man, they hit extra hard. One shot by Ryan Bernard of Jacksonville, VT took out TWO drivers. These poor guys got hit so hard, they immediately waved the white flag. Last night the mud made it extra fun.

I love the demolition derby. I don’t wear my yellow moo moo for just any occasion.

Thanks to Wally who took this photo.

I hope you had a great weekend!

Kevin
