My weekend in five photos.

My weekend in five photos

As I mentioned this morning, many people consider Labor Day weekend to be the end of summer, but not me! I recognize September 21st. Although this weekend, there were many reminders that summer for the most part is over.

On Saturday I put up the signs.

For those that don’t already know, I organize the Winchester Pickle Festival which is coming up on Saturday September 24th. We are coming down to the home stretch of planning for this year’s festival which promises to be a great time!

Saturday night I was back at Monadnock Speedway and helped announce another great night of racing. Only two more Saturday nights of racing at Monadnock. The season is coming to an end. Boo.

Early on Sunday I headed to the Guilford Fair to run in the first annual Beat the Manure 5K.

They promoted this event by telling everyone that the last person to cross the finish line would receive a bag of manure. Well, they were not joking! Fortunately I was not that person. I finished the 3.2 miles in 32 minutes and change. Right in the middle of the pack. Guilford Vermont is a beautiful town and the course took us by some many quant homes. Most had woodsheds full to the brim, ready for the colder weather.

Also on Sunday, I spent a lot of time puttering around the house, but in the evening we were able to visit good friends. There was good conversation, excellent food and very good drink.

I didn’t take any photos yesterday on Labor Day, but I thought I would throw this one in from this morning.

Today is the first day of school for Amelia and Connor! Amelia is going into the 5th grade and Connor is an 8th grader!

The first day of school. Summer must be over.

I hope you had a great weekend!

Kevin
