My weekend in four photos

I have been driving past a home on Route 10 in Northfield for a couple of weeks now that has been selling Gladiolus. Beautiful flowers in every color. I just haven’t had time or the cash on hand to stop by. But Friday afternoon I made it happen.

Six stems for $10. Pretty good deal if you ask me and these flowers continue to brighten up our kitchen.

After spending the day mowing the lawn and running errands on Saturday, we headed over to our favorite local brewery for a relaxing night with friends. The weather was perfect, the beverages were tasty and the conversation was great. A perfect relaxing summer night.

The signs of the summer winding down are everywhere. The flowers are dying off, there is talk of back-to-school and some of our winged friends are looking for nourishment for a long flight south. Ann cleaned out the hummingbird feeder late last week and on Sunday morning I caught one visitor who stopped by.

On Sunday afternoon and evening, I visited another short racetrack here in the northeast. Hudson Speedway in New Hampshire held a big modified racing event and I was happy to help out. It was a great afternoon of racing.

I got home way past my bedtime for a Sunday night! Extra coffee will be necessary today. I hope you had a great weekend! -Kevin
