My weekend in four photos

I have always told people, if you hear my voice on a sports broadcast, then somebody got desperate. Last week Jeff was on vacation. Then on Friday Bobby C got stuck in Boston. So, I got the call to do the broadcast on Friday night with Shawn, who was filling in for Jeff.

Baseball is my favorite sport, so even though it was a little rough around the edges, I got comfortable quickly. Greenfield held on to a 2-0 lead until Granby scored three in the top of the 7th and held on for the win. Good game, and thanks to Shawn for helping me along during the game and broadcast.

Saturday morning, I woke up and got a run in as I prepare for the WMass Mother’s Day Half Marathon. Remember, all pledges go to the Cancer Connection. People have been so generous already. I am making my way towards a goal of $2500!

Saturday was also Earth Day so I made my way downtown with some fellow Kiwanians to cook food for volunteer s who were picking up trash. Connor came down and picked up some gloves, a grabber-thingy and a bag and made his way up the street.

He picked up every cigarette butt he found for a good half mile. Some lady stopped and gave him $20!

Is anyone else’s forsythia’s blooming like this? We have had bright yellow blooms all over each plant for the past couple of years, but this year, only the bottoms or tops of each branch bloom. Ann says it is because of all the heavy snow weighing the branches down this winter. I hope you had a good weekend! -Kevin

Josh O’Connor usually hates watching his movies for the first time. ‘Disclosure Day’ was different

Josh O'Connor heard a quote once that said that Steven Spielberg was like "the director of every child's imagination." The British actor may not have grown up in a moviegoing family, but he was still very aware the Spielberg thing as a '90s kid. It's just in our psyche, O'Connor told The Associated Press in a recent interview.
