This was Bonefrog weekend!

Another weekend where I tried something new. For those who don’t know, the Bonefrog Challenge is a Navy Seal inspired obstacle course. It returned this year to Berkshire East after being paused because of the pandemic. I opted for the three mile “sprint” option. Believe me, that was enough.

Here is one thing I learned quickly. Navy Seals are not short people like me. There were 20 obstacles and I made it through most of them but it would have been a lot easier if I had 6 more inches of height and about 100% more upper body strength. The 20 obstacles are weaved into a 3 mile run up and down the mountain. Some of the competitors were doing the course three times in a row to acquire a Trident metal. I was happy with the basic metal. Once around was enough for me. Two days later and I am still quite sore.

There is already talk of doing it again next year if it is held. I know now what to prepare for. Need to work on rope climbing, bar holding and jumping. Lots of jumping!
Yesterday I tried to relax as much as possible. Does the back of anyone else’s truck look like this in the month of May?

Lumber and flowers. Time for some outdoor home improvement.
I am building a railing on one side of our small outdoor deck so we can attempt to contain Abby the Destructo-Dog.

See those lilies? We are trying to give them a fighting chance with that crazy beast determined to dig everything up!

I will keep you all updated on the progress.
Our yard is starting to become quite colorful. I will leave you with a shot of our massive rhododendron. Or is it an azalea? I forget.

I hope you had a great weekend! -Kevin
