Who agrees that weekends start on Friday?
Friday I headed up to Lee Speedway to host a podcast for a big modified racing event. I had never been to Lee before. Nice racetrack and there were a lot of racing fans in attendance even though there was a big weekend of racing scheduled at Loudon. The modified race ran for 125 laps but there was also a big pro stock 150 lap event that had a lot of people excited. NASCAR Cup driver Tyler Reddick was going to be in the race along with his spotter Derek Kneeland.
I was able to get photos of both of their cars in the pits….
Here is Tyler’s…..
and here is Derek’s
Tyler ended up coming in 2nd to Casey Call who is a northeast driver who won his first race. He beat Tyler by a bumper crossing the finish line. Imagine that! Beating a Cup driver for your first win!
Friday was such a late night that I took it easy on Saturday. In fact I woke up to no voice! Not good for an announcer. Covid test was negative. Ann and I blamed allergies and I was much better after taking some generic Claritin.
We spent some time at the lake late in the day and headed to the brewery for dinner and drinks where I snapped this photo.
Anyone know these crazy kids that are growing like crazy?
Sunday was another relatively relaxing day. We ended up going to Red Apple Farm in Phillipston for Day #2 of their blueberry festival. Day #1 must have been a busy one since there was few of anything blueberry related when we arrived. I did snap this photo in their driveway. Anyone know what mountain is in the distance?
It was due east so I am guessing Mount Wachusett. Just another example the beautiful area where we live.
Some grocery shopping in Athol and then we headed home. I will leave you with a few photos of the lilies in Ann’s garden which are doing surprisingly well since we have not received any significant rainfall in weeks.
I hope you had a great weekend!
