My weekend in six photos. Kiwanis, cheer, wood, run, dog and the moon.

Another weekend and another Kiwanis project! On Saturday, our local Kiwanis group started a project that involves building and installing story stations. These stations will be placed along a trail in Winchester to create a story walk. There will be 18 stations on the story walk and on Saturday morning we started the build process. I am thankful that there are some members in the group who read directions MUCH better than me. I just did what I was told on Saturday morning. Cutting, holding, gluing and nailing. I will make sure that I post photos when the project is complete.

Saturday afternoon we went to Amelia’s last cheerleading showcase for the season.

She and her cheerleading group have performed all over New England over the past few months. Now, Amelia and everyone else will get a well deserved break.

Happy to say that for the most part, the firewood is stacked!

There’s about two cords in this photo which will actually be used in the winter of 2023/2024. I have been heating our home with wood for 15 years now. A good supply of well-seasoned dry cordwood is like money in the bank!

I ran on Sunday morning. Preparing for the Bonefrog Challenge that is coming up this Saturday at Berkshire East in Charlemont. I am afraid that I am not physically nor mentally ready for this challenge. We shall soon see.

We had our first thunderstorm of the season late yesterday. There were a couple of big claps of thunder. Not too bad. I have been keeping an eye on Abby to see how she reacts. All she seemed to do was sniff the window. Weird dog!

I took this photo this morning at 3:30 as I was leaving to head into Greenfield. The amount of light the full moon was giving off was incredible. Almost didn’t need headlights! LOL.

I hope you had a great weekend! -Kevin

Looking to see the solar eclipse from North America? Here’s where and when to catch a sliver

Sorry, North America. After winning the cosmic lottery with a pair of coast-to-coast total solar eclipses, now it's Europe's turn. But look skyward anyway Wednesday and, if you're far enough north in the U.S. and Canada, you might savor a partial eclipse as the moon nibbles away at the sun.
