My Weekend in Ten Photos

Saturday, our annual Pumpkinsmash event returned! The weather was great, we raised money for local 4H clubs, we had a great host, Hager’s Farm Market and we smashed over 180 pumpkins. Here is the view from the lift provided by West County Equipment Rentals from 30 feet up.

People started arriving with their pumpkins at 11AM. For a donation to 4H, their pumpkin was put into the lift and smashed from high above.

Look out below!

I am happy to announce that 6 year old Parker Smith-LaClaire of Greenfield is this year’s winner. His pumpkin smashed over 40 feet! Parker will get a trophy and $150 in cash.

Donations to smash pumpkins and proceeds from a raffle generated over $2000 for local 4H groups. Hooray!
After Pumpkin Smash I headed to the Pioneer Valley Brewery in Turners Falls to judge their first ever chili contest.

There were eight different chilis. All were good but three stood out and congratulations to Brandon, Lisa and Tom for submitting the top three.

Awesome weather continued yesterday. I spent the day pushing this thing.

I used to rake leaves. Not anymore. Mulch, mulch, mulch!

Still a lot of leaves up in those trees!
I hope you had a good weekend!
