My weekend in three photos

Time change weekend is always a weird one. How much longer do we have to keep doing this? Who makes the decision to stop changing the clocks twice a year? Is there some sort of time czar we have to approach? I am ready.

Saturday we were all reminded that the weather changes daily, if not hourly or by the minute. This was the scene not far from my house on Saturday afternoon as Abby and I were on our walk to to the dog park. March looked like January.

On Saturday we had our annual St. Patrick’s Day dinner with friends. Ann went above and beyond and made a soda bread for the meal. It was excellent and much better then the store bought stuff that shows up this time of year. She used my trusty cast-iron pan and it came out perfect!

Sunday was dedicated to boiling sap.

We have over 500 gallons to send through this 2 by 6 evaporator at the Outlaw Brewing Company. Yesterday I went through about 175 gallons. There is a ways to go. Fill the wood, fill the pan, drain off. For hours and hours and hours. It’s worth it though!

I hope you had a good weekend! -Kevin
