My weekend in three photos- Wreaths Across America

This weekend I took Connor to our local cemetery for a Wreaths Across America event.

Admittedly I didn’t know much about Wreaths Across America before Saturday. It is a relatively new event which started in 2007. This year on Saturday, thousands of wreaths were laid at the graves of veterans at thousands of cemeteries across the United States. Our local cemetery is Evergreen Cemetery. Over 500 veterans are buried there. It was the first time it hosted Wreaths Across America.

After a ceremony that recognized the branches of the military, about 100 people started to distribute the wreaths to each veteran’s grave which was marked with an American flag.

Connor and I don’t know any veterans buried in our local cemetery, but there were people there placing a wreath on their loved ones final resting spot.

It was overwhelming to see how many people have served this nation. It was humbling to see so many people that were there to make sure they were recognized on a cold December Saturday.

I hope you had a good weekend. -Kevin
