GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — A power outage hit downtown Greenfield Tuesday morning.
The outage is affecting a large area of Main Street. A source tells Franklin County Now that an underground transformer blew in the area of Fiske Avenue and Main Street.
Crews from Eversource are on the scene at this hour. There is no timetable as to when power may be restored.
This is a developing story, and Franklin County Now will provide updates as more information from Greenfield Public Safety is provided.
UPDATE FROM THE CITY OF GREENFIELD: 1:30 PM: Eversource has returned power to all but 21 properties. A generator is being brought in to power the remaining 21 properties. The generator is expected to be here this afternoon.
