Christmas tree disposal options in Greenfield

GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Greenfield residents have several options to dispose of their Christmas trees. The DPW will be doing a curbside collection beginning Monday, January 5th and ending Thursday, January 29th, and collections may not fall on the same day as trash day. The Transfer Station will also accept trees at 86 Cumberland Road. The service is free for residents or $10 for non-residents.

Greenfield DPW Announces Christmas Tree Disposal Options
GREENFIELD – Looking to move on from your holiday decorations? The Greenfield Department of Public
Works (DPW) is reminding the community of two disposal options for Christmas trees. They are as follows:
1. Curbside collection: Greenfield residents who receive curbside rubbish collection can place Christmas trees
curbside for collection at no charge. The curbside collection period will start Monday, January 5 and end
Thursday, January 29. Christmas tree collection may not always fall on the same day as trash collection and will
be done using trucks other than the rubbish truck.

2. Transfer Station disposal: Christmas trees can be disposed of at the Transfer Station at 86 Cumberland Road.
There is no charge for Greenfield residents. There is a $10 charge for non-residents. Transfer Station hours are as
follows:
• Tuesday through Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
• Saturday: 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• Starting on January 17, the Transfer Station will switch to its Saturday winter hours, which will be 7:30
a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
