COLRAIN, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — With the imminent heatwave this week, the City of Greenfield has announced cooling centers that will be open today through Friday.
The Greenfield Housing Authority Community Room at 1 Elm Terrace will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Greenfield Public Library during their regular hours, Greenfield City Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Oak Courts Common Room 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Town of Colrain has announced that it is opening a cooling center for residents looking to get out of the extreme heat.
The Griswold Memorial Library will have additional hours on Thursday of this week from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. as a cooling center.
The library will also be open during its regular business hours throughout the week.

In Montague, Town Hall will be open Wednesday until 6:30, while the Gill-Montague Senior Center will welcome residents Wednesday through Friday from 9:00 to 2:00.
Officials are urging people to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity and check on vulnerable neighbors.
