EASTHAMPTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Easthampton Fire Department and the Council on Aging collaborated on an event this weekend to train 30 members of the community on how to properly use fire extinguishers.

Fire Department officials say cooking fires continue to be the leading cause of all home fires and injuries, something that could be mitigated with training on fire extinguishers.

Participants of the event were not only trained on proper fire extinguisher use, but also were able to take one home.
