Voters across Franklin County will head to the polls Tuesday, November 3, to decide a series of important state, federal and local elections, including the race for Massachusetts governor, a U.S. Senate seat, the First Congressional District, the First Franklin District State Representative seat and Franklin County sheriff.

The gubernatorial contest features incumbent Democratic Governor Maura Healey and Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll seeking another term against Republican challengers Michael Minogue and Shawn Oliver. Independent candidate Andrea James is also on the ballot.

The race comes as Massachusetts voters consider the direction of the state on issues including the economy, housing affordability, energy costs and the cost of living.

In the U.S. Senate race, incumbent Democrat Ed Markey is seeking reelection. He faces Republican John Deaton, independent Shiva Ayyadurai and Joe Tache, who is running under the Socialism and Liberation designation.

Markey, who has served in the Senate since 2013, emerged victorious from a September Democratic primary against U.S. Representative Seth Moulton.

Franklin County voters will also weigh in on the First Congressional District race, where longtime Democratic Congressman Richard Neal is facing independent challenger Nadia Donya Milleron.

Neal, a Springfield Democrat, is seeking another term in the House of Representatives. Milleron, a lawyer and consumer advocate, is making her second attempt to unseat Neal, having also challenged him in 2024.

The First Franklin District State Representative race is another important contest for local voters.

Greenfield City Council President Lora Wondolowski is running to fill the seat left vacant by former State Representative Natalie Blais, who resigned earlier this year to take a position at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Wondolowski narrowly won the September Democratic primary against former Blais chief of staff Corinne Coryat. She faces independent candidate Amy Lavallee of Whately in the November election.

The Franklin County sheriff’s race features three candidates seeking to fill the remaining two years of former Sheriff Christopher Donelan’s term.

Interim Sheriff Lori Streeter, a Democrat appointed by Healey following Donelan’s retirement, faces independent Gary Gagnon and unenrolled candidate Jon Hall.

Streeter brings more than three decades of experience within the sheriff’s department. Gagnon, a longtime corrections officer, has emphasized transparency and oversight, while Hall, Northfield’s former police chief, is focusing on regional cooperation and public safety.

There are also a state record-tying nine questions on this year’s ballot.

Polls across Massachusetts will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Franklin County voters will also decide nine statewide ballot questions as part of the 2026 general election.
