GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Franklin Regional Council of Governments, FRCOG, released their draft of the Franklin County Road Safety Action Plan on Friday.

The plan identifies high injury locations along with safety-for-all strategies and potential action steps for rural roads and village centers.

The high injury network highlights spots along Route 2 in Shelburne, Routes 5 & 10 in Deerfield, and Interstate 91, and where the major roadways all converge in Greenfield and Turners Falls.

The treatments proposed for the high injury network seek to manage speeds, clarify movements, and reduce the severity of crashes by reducing the radius of intersections, adding roundabouts, conversions to all-way stops, and adding rumble strips at intersections. Treatments for other sections of roadway include raising sidewalks, buffered bike lanes, and increased signage.

This year’s song of the summer is a ballad, not a banger. Here’s what that says about us

For the past 14 weeks and counting, the top Billboard spot has been held by a love ballad: Alex Warren's "Ordinary."
