GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The federal government has shut down following two failed votes Tuesday and the impacts could be felt locally, depending on how long the government remains shut down.
The Food Bank of Western Mass is preparing a plan to garner additional support to feed families should benefits like SNAP and WIC be impacted if the shutdown persists.
The Senate is expected to meet again Wednesday to vote on the same two measures. This is the 21st federal government shutdown.
