GREENFIELD – On Tuesday, June 18, at 6:00 PM, the Greenfield Recreation Department will host a public design meeting regarding the proposed pickleball courts at Abercrombie Park. The meeting will take place at the Recreation offices on 20 Sanderson Street.

The project’s design team, Berkshire Design Group, Inc., will be present to discuss the proposal. As proposed, construction would also include site amenities, such as benches, shade structures, bike racks, trash receptacles and other site fixtures.

“Packed with health and social benefits, pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the country. The pandemic only helped to fuel pickleball’s growth in the area.” says Christy Moore, Recreation Director. “Come share your support to help move this project forward.”

“Pickleball is quickly capturing the spotlight as a new recreational pastime,” said Mayor Virginia “Ginny” Desorgher. “I encourage anyone interested in this project to attend this vital meeting; your input truly makes a difference.
