HAWLEY, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The towns of Hawley and Cummington have received a joint grant award of $260,000 from the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters program to replace decades-old airpack equipment.
The towns applied for the grant together last year and the funds will be evenly split between the towns to replace the aging protective equipment.
Without the grant, the rural towns might not be able to afford new Self Contained Breathing Apparatus for the firefighters.
