Troopers find narcotics, illegal firearm in Deerfield traffic stop

DEERFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Last week in Deerfield, State Troopers with the Community Action Team arrested all of the occupants of a vehicle after a traffic stop on I-91 led to the discovery of narcotics and an illegal firearm.

During the stop, Troopers found none of the occupants including the driver held a valid driver’s license and a vehicle search uncovered 1.5 kilograms of cocaine and 120 grams of fentanyl.

Troopers from the Troop B Community Action Team conducted a motor vehicle stop on Interstate 91 in Deerfield. 

During the stop, Troopers learned that neither the operator nor any of the passengers had a valid driver’s license.

Troopers removed the operator to fill out summons paperwork. During the conversation with the operator and passengers, Troopers ascertained that the vehicle was transporting narcotics across New England as well as an illegal firearm.

Troopers performed a frisk of the vehicle and located a stolen, loaded Glock handgun with a high-capacity magazine. Troopers also located a second loaded Glock handgun with a defaced serial number, a high-capacity magazine, approximately 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, and approximately 120 grams of pure fentanyl.
Troopers placed all the occupants under arrest for narcotics trafficking and firearms offenses.
