NORTHAMPTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Northampton Fire crews responded to reports of smoke coming from the first floor of a residence on Trumbull Road last week.
Crews utilized a Thermal Imaging Camera to locate what was found to be a smoldering cabinet beside an overheated hot water heater that had run out of water in the basement.
The home had no working smoke alarms in the basement or first floor, but quick work by a neighbor helped minimize the potential damage.
