West Nile virus detected in Erving

ERVING, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) —  A mosquito from Erving has tested positive for West Nile virus, joining the growing number of local towns in the county with the virus, including Deerfield.

No human cases have been detected in Franklin County, however the presence of it in mosquitoes has motivated the public-health nurses to issue warnings to be prepared and taken preventative measures against being bitten.
