BOSTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Healey-Driscoll Administration awarded $343,985 in grants to restore over 191 acres of wildlife habitat across Massachusetts.

While 28% of the state is permanently protected today, the habitats require ongoing stewardship for the vulnerable plant and wildlife that face increasing threats from extreme weather and destructive pests and pathogens.

Of the $343,985 in grant funding, $30,661 has been awarded to the Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation who will treat an invasive species along the Green River in the Lehovec River Walk floodplain forest.
